EXPERIENCE MATTERS! As in any field of endeavor, experience provides a much needed edge over the competition. My real estate career began while in college at The University of Texas (Austin) when I began leasing, managing and maintaining the apartment complex in which I lived. Being raised in a "real estate family", it seemed natural that I learn the theory of real estate in the classroom and the practice of real estate in the field.
Since graduation in 1983 (BBA), I have been fortunate enough to hone my skills with some of the most respected companies in the industry: TIAA-CREF (mortgage banking, NYC), The Trammell Crow Company (certified property manager, leasing agent), The Rouse Company (recently acquired by General Growth Properties) (regional mall manager) and RE/MAX (broker/associate). Over the last 21 years I have been a key player in over 3 billion dollars of real estate transactions for the benefit of others as well as dozens of transaction for my own account. With hands-on experience in commercial/residential mortgage financing; investment-grade commercial property sales and leasing; retail, office and multifamily development; major tenant leasehold construction; commercial/residential property renovation and residential sales and investments, I am uniquely qualified to serve as your guide to real estate in Fredericksburg, TX.
A 4th generation Austinite, I moved with my wife and
two young children to Fredericksburg in 1999. Our goal in relocating to
Fredericksburg was to live a life that is reminiscent of the life my wife and I
enjoyed while growing up. The quality of life that drew us to the Hill Country
jewel that is Fredericksburg does so for many others as well. I welcome the
opportunity to share our experiences with you.
For natives of the area, I have a deep appreciation of what makes this community special and for why you work so hard to stay close to your roots. I share your concerns on local issues such as traffic, growth and price inflation. Stepping into residential real estate sales in 2000, I have achieved my initial goal of becoming one of the top ten producers in Gillespie County. Forming my own company has me eager and motivated to set a new goal of consistently placing in the top five in terms of total annual sales.
In 2003 I was awarded the nationally recognized e-Pro® certification, currently held by less than 1% of real estate professionals nationwide. I am the first REALTOR® in Fredericksburg to have earned this distinction. Additionally, I earned the coveted Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation from the National Association of Realtors Institute of Real Estate Management in 1996. I am the only real estate professional in this area to have earned this distinction. In 2006 I earned the GRI designation (Graduate, Realtor Institute) as well.
e-Pro® is the official technology certification program of the National Association of REALTORS®. The e-Pro® program instructs participants in the professional use of e-mail, the development of an interactive Web site, and the use of on-line research and marketing tools. Graduates emerge specially equipped to meet the fast-growing consumer demand for web-based real estate services. The culmination of these experiences is the recent formation of my new company, Rubicon Real Estate Services. The name is borrowed from the history of ancient Rome and Julius Caesars' crossing of the Rubicon River.
