Professional Designations

On Earth Day, 2009 (April 22), Jeff Williams became the first broker/agent in Fredericksburg, TX to earn the coveted Green Designation awarded by the National Association of Realtors®. Courses for this program were created in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of industry experts to ensure that designees gain comprehensive knowledge of green homes and buildings and issues of sustainability in real estate. This designation helps consumers who care about energy efficiency and sustainability identify professionals who can help them realize their green real estate and lifestyle goals.

EcoBroker is an education and certification program for real estate professionals who care about the environment and want to promote energy-efficient and "green" features in homes and buildings. The EcoBroker® logo is the symbol of environmentally responsible and sustainable practices in the real estate industry. Certified EcoBrokers® meet buyer and seller demand for real estate professionals with a real understanding of the issues that drive current market decisions. On October 8, 2008 Jeff Williams became the first broker/agent in Fredericksburg, TX to earn the EcoBroker certification.

Some Texas REALTORS® have gone the extra mile and have undergone a 12-hour certification program that arms them with special knowledge about statewide affordable housing resources and products. A Texas Affordable Housing Specialist is dedicated to increasing the rate of homeownership and retention. Jeff Williams completed this certification program on September 25, 2008 and is actively engaged in the creation of affordable housing in Fredericksburg, TX via his lobbying efforts with the Fredericksburg Texas City Council to remove barriers to affordability (e.g. by creating new zoning districts allowing smaller lots and increase density, etc.) and through the founding of the Fredericksburg Land Trust.

An e-PRO is a REALTOR® who has successfully completed the e-PRO training program for real estate professionals. Endorsed by the National Association of REALTORS®, the e-PRO course teaches professionals the nuts and bolts of working with real estate on-line: Web sites, e-mail, on-line tools, and most of all, what today's consumer really wants (prompt and professionally answers to your e-mail, respect for your privacy and the latest technology tools to make your buying or selling experience more efficient and profitable). On September 26, 2003 Jeff Williams became the first broker/agent in Fredericiksburg, TX to earn the e-PRO certification.

Graduate REALTOR® Institute designees have made the commitment to provide a high level of professional services to their clients. The GRI curriculum incorporates a common body of knowledge for progressive real estate professionals. A REALTOR® who possesses the GRI designation has not only completed a course of study required by the program, but also subscribes to the Code of Ethics of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®.

Have taken at least 90 hours of specialized real estate related courses.

Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) is the designation awarded by state associations to members of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® who successfully complete a predetermined course of study.

Are up to date on the latest real estate trends and issues.

Any person awarded the GRI designation must be a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and must maintain that membership to retain the designation.

The GRI Designation was established by the Education Committee of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and approved by the NAR Board of Directors on February 12, 1974. It was amended and approved by the Education Committee in January, 1992. In January 2006, Jeff Williams completed the course work necessary to earn the GRI certification.

The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®), an affiliate of NAR, has been helping real estate management professionals enhance their skills, knowledge, and careers for more than 70 years. IREM provides training, information, research, analysis, and practical advice for professionals managing all types of income-producing real estate at all career levels. Services are designed to support members' commitment to maximizing the value of the real estate entrusted to them and to safeguard those who live, work, and shop in the properties they manage. The Institute confers three types of credentials: the Certified Property Manager (CPM®), the Accredited Residential Manager (ARM®) and the Accredited Management Organization (AMO®) accreditation.

On November 14, 1993 Jeff Williams was awarded the CPM certification from IREM and is the only broker/agent in Fredericksburg, TX real estate to hold that distinction.
